The staff at the animal rescue league of boston in dedham location go above and beyond to ensure that the animals are well taken care of. You can tell all the staff genuinely care about the animals. If you are looking to adopt an animal to provide a safe and loving home please do not look elsewhere. Special shout out to Amanda and Lisa - they really helped us find the perfect dog for us and we cannot be happier. Because we visited the shelter multiple times to bond with him prior to bringing him home, the transition was super easy and seamless for all of us. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience!!

I found my first cat here in 2022, he was estimated to be 6 years old and very scared after being here for 3 weeks and being freshly neutered, but he did not hiss, scratch, or bite me, just looked at me with his big eyes asking for help. The volunteers we spoke to and the staff that coordinated his adoption were all very kind and knowledgeable and I'm very grateful to them now 3 years later.

i live in a 1979 rv i bought for $2000 on fb marketplace after living in my car for a year with my pets. its parked in the woods with an extension cord to run a space heater. theres no water, no electric hook ups. its an aluminium shell used as a glorified tent shelter. i have the opportunity to start a really good new job to claw myself out of homelessness and it will require me to leave my pets alone in the rv for 12+ hours a day and i cant leave the heater running when im not here, its a fire hazard. i reached out to arl dedham about their temp boarding program to help get through this cold snap even though it breaks my heart to send my pets off somewhere, i knew it was the right thing to do for them to keep them safe. well they called me back today and said i dont qualify because im

A great animal shelter. My girlfriend and I have been looking at adopting a dog and have been visiting every week for two months now. I like that they take donations of even lightly used toys so I can donate some things my I bought for my cat that he didn't end up liking. Animals go quickly (which is a good thing as I'm happy they're getting a home) however that means if you like an animal the pressure is on to decide now if you want to adopt them as they may be adopted by someone else in 10 minutes. No going home and sleeping on that decision. Now the reason for 3 stars instead of 5. Every volunteer I have met has been amazing and several have even remembered me on subsequent visits. However, some of the full time staff need an attitude adjustment. They constantly talk down to me and ma
