Shaffer Animal Hospital is a blessing for animals. Its privately owned by doctors who are there day in and day out providing exceptional care. The associate veterinarians are equally as committed and compassionate. The entire team from the client care representatives, nurses, assistants etc are all thoroughly trained and are fear free certified. . Dr Witt has gone above and beyond for me and my boy Charlie. He came in with an extremely complicated case and I had many questions. Dr Witt always made time to talk to me. To listen to all of my possible theories and ideas of how to help him. He ultimately was very ill and I had to make the decision to lay him to rest. Although I have assisted in many cases I have never experienced this with a personal pet. I felt comfortable from the start, even filling out my paperwork. I have called a lot of different offices and asked friends for recommendations but no other office gave me the peace of mind I got from Shaffer. They were super flexible and willing to help me schedule based on my availability. Hayden was AMAZING. He handled Lyla so gently and I was super impressed. Dr. Smith calmed a lot of my worries and reassured me that I’m doing everything right for my cat.

I took my cat to Shaffer Animal Hospital for a general check up. I had no wait time, I was brought into a room as soon as I walked through the door. I had not worked with Dr Whitt and her assistant previously and found them kind, knowledgeable, caring and personable. They did not try to push anything on me or rush me. They listened to my concerns and the latest history of my cat. I hope I don't have to go back anytime soon obviously. I do reccommend this office especially Dr Whitt. Also, Brittney was a huge help in scheduling my appointment. I must also say that I have worked with Shaffer Animal Hospital for 40yrs beginning when they were on East Colonial Dr.

We love Dr. Gerrish! She has taken such amazing care of our twin 14+ year old dogs. She is great with follow-up and we always get a call back personally and quickly. We highly recommend Shaffer Animal Hospital and Dr. Gerrish to folks wanting a very knowledgeable and caring veterinarian.

We were visiting from our home in North Carolina. We had our two puppies with us. They had had diarrhea for 24 hours so we thought we should probably bring them in just to be sure they hadn’t gotten into something. My partner had brought her dog there previously and suggested that we brought the puppies there. Unfortunately, it was not a good experience at all. First of all, I was greeted by the veterinarian by saying what possessed you to get two of these breeds of pups? As we have two Aussie border collie mix puppies. I thought that was kind of unprofessional and rude as if we didn’t know how to handle dogs lol though we’ve been doing it all our lives as well as I’ve been active and rescued for over the last 25 years and handled many dogs at once l. I was not impressed with the comment
