We highly, highly recommend Save A Dog. After the heartbreaking loss of our beloved senior pug, Lucie, my partner and I knew we wanted to open our hearts again when the time felt right. I spent weeks scouring shelters across the Northeast, searching for the right pug to welcome into our home. Then I found Save A Dog on PetFinder--and everything changed. I submitted an application for two sister pugs and was amazed to hear back from Julie, the shelter manager, within two business days. She was incredibly warm, responsive, and thorough, and helped move the process along quickly and smoothly. My little girl Daisy ended up with paralyzed back legs after a grooming. Vet informed me she needed an operation that would be $10,000.00. The vet also informed me that Maltese dogs have a tendency to have a weak spine and this probably wasn't the fault of the groomer. I am elderly with health issues and continued caring for her until it became impossible. A friend told me to get in touch with Save a dog. Shirley came right over. She Immediately got two wonderful ladies to care for her. Daisy went to a chiropractor every week and physical therapy. After almost a year Daisy is walking on all four legs again. Daisy is so precious to me, I miss her so much. The ladies have adopted her and she has a wonderful new home. Save a dog is a wonderful caring placement for cats or dog. I can't say eno

I adopted a cat here 4 years ago. I filled the application, was contacted and met the cat and adopted same day. It was a seamless great process. The rescued kitty is amazing. He is the best kitty I have ever had. My best friend :)

Super friendly staff. They know their animals very well. They have fenced areas where you can meet a potential pet and even bring your current pet to meet the new one. We adopted Blue aka Kaia now and it was a great experience

Absolutely amazing! I can’t say enough positive things about this incredible animal rescue organization. Not only have I adopted several dogs through this wonderful group but I have had the privilege of volunteering here as well. Staff and volunteers are deeply committed to the wellbeing of each dog/cat that they have the privilege of helping and the care and dedication that is shown to the animals is unmatched. If you’re considering adopting a pet in need, I wholeheartedly recommend Save a Dog!
