I have been taking my pets to Salty Paws Veterinary Hospital in Yorktown, VA since 2008, and this review has been a long time coming! Salty Paws has cared for my multiple dogs and cats and supported my family over the years. From puppyhood to senior care and the heartbreaking final goodbyes, they have walked through every part of the journey with us. Dr. Fannin is my primary veterinarian and she is wonderful, but every doctor I have seen there has been excellent. The staff is just as special. Carolyn, Jamie, Kristen, Halie, Alyssa, Tatum, and so many others treat me and my pets like family. Your appointment is never rushed, you are remembered, and so are your pets. We came to Salty Paws after being told by 2 other vets that what was going on with our guy was “normal” when we knew it was not. Dr. V and the team listened, addressed many follow on issues, uncovering an undiagnosed illness. The new was delivered gently & Dr. V was patient as I processed the information. We left with news we did not anticipate but felt informed & educated on our path forward. Megan & Aaron were nothing short of amazing! Everyone in the office was kind & respectful towards the patients, their owners and each other. We have already recommended Salty Paws and are so thankful for our experience. I don’t really know where to begin, but the level of personalized and heartfelt service in such a demanding and stressful environment is unmatched. My two boys have been in for various things the past 2 years, but I happened to have JJ (Joy I believe) and Dr Dirmeyer this week during a dental cleaning/extractions/cyst removal/post op care for my yorkie baby. He wasn’t feeling so great after the surgery and anesthesia, and I had some concerns around not being able to get his meds down, not being able to get him to eat/drink, his apparent discomfort and restlessness etc. Quite frankly, I had a lot of personal stressors going on at the same time, and this worry and anxiety around my fur baby made it all explode at once in the way of tears. Our dogs and cats receive excellent care at Salty Paws and have for years. You rarely need to wait when you arrive for appointments. Communication with the front desk and vets alike is excellent. Dr. Blessing has been very helpful in treating two of our pets with special needs. I have found every vet I've worked with at Salty Paws to be knowledgeable, sensitive and caring. I recommend Salty Paws to you most highly when seeking care for your fur babies.

I've taken my dog here three times. We just switched from another Vet. I am so impressed with the the level of care by the practitioners in this establishment. I really appreciate the time and care that the docs and staff take with each visit. I'm sorry to say I've had some bad experiences with some other local veterinary practices, so Salty Paws is like a breath of fresh air. I feel my dog is in capable and caring hands when I visit and feel we are lucky to have found this practice. They sincerely care. What a relief. Thank you to all of you for an exceptional experience.
