Leave Directions, Be Knowledgeable, Smooth Transition I have been utilizing this boarding facility for a year or more. I have only had to board my Pitbull 2-3 times, if that. Boarding is a last option for me, as I like to keep my animal in my control. In my experiences of boarding him, I have not had any complaints about the condition in which he was returned to me. I have laid out clear instructions to Rockdale Kennels and they have followed them, such as the time in which my dog is fed. Before I used them, I had worry about the allegations of others' dogs coming back underweight (from reading past reviews), but this comes from the stress of being boarded. Our GSD (who can be protective) is always welcomed when we have emergency baseball or other sporting events that require us to be gone. Sky, loves going and makes her presence know upon entry and she is ready to go home when we pick her up. Our dog is an inside dog but loves the outside. RK gives he an opportunity to socialize with other animals besides squirrels, dears etc...RK may not be a 5 star boarding facility to many, but to my dog and family it is indeed 5 star.

Honest owner. He doesn't patronize. He doesn't misrepresent what he does. He's not perfect, he's trying to improve what he does, and he wants to do good by the dogs he keeps. I can tell they regularly clean up after the dogs by what I see and smell when I'm there. I've been going to Rockdale Kennels with the previous owner and this one for over 15 years. Our dogs get a bath before coming home. They also came to our rescue in the summer of 2024. We were out of the country and another kennel north of I-20 decided our 165-lb dog couldn't stay there after saying they could handle a large-breed dog. Believe the bad reviews! Just picked up my pups. One of them is soooo skinny. She was there for 5 nights. I brought her food in small sandwich bags with the right amount to avoid this from happening. My poor pup looks so skinny. You can feel her spine when petting her. I should have believed the bad reviews.

I've been boarding my dogs here for years! Recently, I had the opportunity to have my high strung dog groomed. I tried a few other groomers, only for them to tell me they could groom his body and won't let them touch his face. He had so much hair on his face and head, by the time I found Julie at Rockdale Kennels!! She is TERRIFIC!! Now my little guy looks great. I am so relieved!
