Rockaway Animal Hospital

We had to euthanize our dog. I called Rockaway Animal Hospital and spoke to Morgan. She was wonderful and helped me set up an appointment. When I got there, we were put in a very comfortable room — not a regular exam room. We sat on the couch and Dr. Dubos came in and explained everything. She was kind and very warm. Donna came in and explained the bill and helped me pick an urn. For one of our worst days, everyone at Rockaway Animal Hospital made it bearable. They even had a separate exit IN THE ROOM so you can quietly walk out when you're ready to leave. Never have I had that experience. I remember going through this years ago and crying at the receptionist counter as I paid. This was not like that.

We are so grateful for the amazing care our dog Meleys received at Rockaway Animal Hospital. She was having stomach issues and needed to stay for three days, and the entire staff went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable and cared for. They answered every one of our questions with patience and kindness, and we always felt that Meleys was in the best hands. What really stood out was how happy she was to return for her follow-up. She ran right in without hesitation, which says everything about how well they treat their patients. Thank you, Dr. Maniar and the entire team, for all that you do. We could not recommend Rockaway Animal Hospital more highly.

I have two xxl breed dogs and it’s not always easy finding the right care. This was our vet when we were local. We moved and hour away and were having a hard time getting my dog diagnosed properly everyone just said “allergies” made the visit back to Rockaway and the vets immediately dug deeper to get answers. When my dog had a medical emergency this week they went above and beyond with compassion at every level. I knew my dog was in great hands getting treated medically but they were also treating him like family. There was always clear communication and the front desk went above and beyond and advocated for us with our dogs insurance saving us so much money. They truly are the best!

On April 18, 2024 both my dogs Lynus 14 year old Maltese and Nica my 10 year old terrier/westie were rushed here after being seen here for the past several months by Dr Katie Harrs..They both coincidentally went into labored breathing at the same time from two unrelated illnesses. Lynus was diagnosed with COPD and Nica had mammary cancer. I never once received a follow up from Dr Harrs for either of my two dogs that she was treating. My phone calls went unanswered. Many days I waited with phone in hand after being assured she would call and either she didn’t or it was days later . Even when I asked to speak to her directly the receptionist would call instead. Always found it odd that she never called to ask how they were both doing, how they were responding to the several different medicat

EXCELLENT FACILITY! I recently had to have them put my elderly cat to sleep after he took a turn of the worse this past week and what a great and compassionate place. Dr. Rachel Kahn really went above and beyond to help ease the situation! I highly recommend this Dr. and animal hospital!
