The Reptile and Amphibian Center of the Rockies is the #1 reptile rescue in the state of Colorado. I have been a board member and volunteer for the organization at different times. Furthermore, I adopted my Dwarf Boa Imperator from RACR and I am happy to report my snake has been healthy and comfortable from the moment I adopted them. RACR prioritizes the health of the animals in their care over profit so their adoption fees are affordable and the animals receive optimal husbandry while in their care. More importantly, the animals that are adopted out have recieved health checks to ensure they are either healthy or go to a home that can meet the specific needs of the animal if they have pre-existing health issues. They have everything from Whites Tree Frogs to Uromastyx Lizards, and everyth

My boyfriend and I adopted Peaches tonight. Rachel made the process of setting up the appointment, meet & greet and the adoption so easy and painless. She gave us a care guide and made sure all of our questions were answered. They obviously take very good care of each reptile and amphibian there and really make sure they are going to a good and loving home. 10\10 absolutely love this place and recommend it to anyone. Thank you again Rachel! You are a flipping rock star!

We recently adopted a second ball python from the Reptile & Amphibian Center of the Rockies. We cannot say enough good things about them. They are knowledgeable, super friendly, and welcoming into their facility. Their facility is clean and well organized. They obviously care deeply about all the animals in their care. They are an advocate for the most current husbandry standards. And they were very patient and helpful in the process of choosing another snake. If you are at all considering adopting a reptile, please consider the RACR.

We recently adopted a ball python from them and it was a great experience. Not only are they very knowledgeable and clearly take great care of their animals but they are also very communicative and responsive. It's obvious all the animals get proper care and are loved while housed there. We highly recommend contacting them if you're looking for a rescue reptile and supporting their organization.

I love Northern Colorado Herpetological Society! If it was reasonable for me to do (it's not, given space/time/roommates), I would adopt more herpetofauna from this organization right now! NCHS provides meticulous care to their adoptable animals - feeding, cleaning, enrichment, etc. Because of their clear commitment to their herps, and because I wanted to adopt a rehomed herp, an adoption coordinator and I set up a time to visit NCHS. I adopted an awesome crested gecko, and NCHS helped immensely both during and after the process. At my first and second visit, staff and volunteers patiently answered my million and one questions. They emailed me the link to the enclosure that I ended up purchasing, and many other links for supplies I would likely need (none of which they get proceeds from).
