The Puppy School of Fort Collins

Jugg and I took a number of private lessons with Roo, and could not have been happier! I adopted Jugg a week before The Puppy School closed for the season, yet Roo was more than happy to work with me to get my pup the training he needed! She helped him learn important skills such as recall, stay, and lots of off leash training, each in singular, hour long sessions. She also has a vast network of people to setup puppy play dates with, allowing for proper, safe socialization of my pup without entering some of the scary dog parks around town. Anyone who adopts a puppy, whether that be rescue or not, should definitely sign up quick to take advantage of the amazing expertise and kindness of Roo and The Puppy School!

Kirby loved Roo’s puppy class! Roo is extremely knowledgeable about dogs and puppies and how to properly train and socialize them. Her teaching is very clear and easy to understand. I would recommend her to anyone looking to socialize their puppy, learn about dog behavior, and how to raise a confident, well-trained adult dog. The class offers both training and time for the puppies to play with each other which helped Kirby’s confidence so much. After trying a couple other puppy classes, I can say that Roo’s classes are the best in Fort Collins!

Working with Roo has been a great experience! We started out attending classes with our 4 month old rescue puppy, Willie, but soon discovered we were going to have a hard time integrating what we learned in our 3 dog household since we weren't using the same methods with our older dogs. Roo suggested private sessions in our home with all the dogs and offered guidance about what to focus on first. Willie and I have also attended puppy play dates, which have been a great opportunity for socializing!

The Puppy School has been a wonderful place for my puppy Tugs to learn and grow! We started with Puppy Kindergarten and have started Level 1. We get many compliments on how well behaved he is! He has also made many wonderful friends through the school and his socialization has been amazing from the puppy play dates! Roo has been so helpful in the areas we have struggled like leash pulling and her one on one classes are tailored to what your pups need! Overall wonderful trainings for you and your fur baby!

We adopted a 4.5 year old pug (Brody) just 1.5 weeks ago and wanted to get him integrated into our house and pack smoothly. We noticed his separation anxiety pretty quickly and some general fears/quirks about being picked up and going down stairs. Otherwise, he is well-behaved, house trained, walks well on leash and can sit. We reached out to the puppy school to help us with training right away so we could get him and our household started on the right path, support his learning and confidence building. After our first private in-home training yesterday and starting the behavior exercises Roo shared with us, we already observed changes with him as I left the house and had our first good night of sleep.
