The front staff was great. My wife and I fell in love with a German Shepherd. We drove over 2 1/2 hours from out of state to get her. We meet her and decided to move forward. After my wife filled out the paperwork they finally brought her out. They had removed her collar and wrapped our leash around her neck. We asked to put our collar on her and the" counselor " Charity advised she was to skittish to put our collar on. Well as we were putting her in the car she slipped the makeshift collar and ran off. The kennel staff from the b6thack came out and tried to help me get her back. My wife went inside to inform of the situation. Charity could have cared less. The front office were on the other hand very supportive and advised if she came back or was picked up they would call us. It w

This is the worst county services unit ever. The staff are very difficult, disrespectful and don’t care about animals and not afraid to let you know they don’t care. If you call them about finding a lost pet. They don’t offer you any help help. Try to get them to help with TNR program for cats . No help. No money. Is the excuse. That I don’t understand. Our county executive can spend 43,000 on a meeting for snow but no money to help poor animals living on the streets Why have these programs if the people that have these jobs have no compassion for animals. So sad.

Not impressed with this shelter. I’m extremely disappointed with this shelter. A woman at the shelter said they are a “no-kill” facility, but that claim feels completely misleading based on what I witnessed and what staff admitted during my visit. Animals deserve honesty and compassion, and I didn’t see much of either here. The adoption process is unnecessarily difficult, with rules and hoops that seem designed to push people away rather than help pets find good homes. It’s heartbreaking to watch animals sit in cages while staff make it nearly impossible for them to be adopted. What’s worse is the focus seems to be far more on money than on the animals themselves. Fees are high, policies are inconsistent, and every conversation felt like it was about dollars instead of the welfare of the

Unfortunately they don't answer the phone to answer questions about dog availability and they apparently don't update the listings of available dogs, although the website shows update times. I went there twice to see about a specific dog that was listed as available and both times was told it was pending adoption. This place is in a remote location with no street lights and the road to get there is apparently is 35mph. Watch out for the speed cameras. They will get you. The employees and volunteers are friendly, but seem shortstaffed.

When I called, I was looking into the options for surrendering, but the person couldn’t provide me with the necessary information on how to proceed. They suggested that I call them the next day, which made me feel like they were unwilling to assist me during my initial call. I understand that they might be at their capacity for surrendering, but it would have been appreciated if they had acknowledged the process and offered some guidance, even if it wasn’t something I could do at that moment. Additionally, there seemed to be an undertone of frustration in their tone, which made me feel like they were tired of speaking with me. All I did was ask two simple questions.
