Poquita Paws Rescue

Over the past 15 years I have adopted four dogs from Poquita Paws Rescue in San Antonio, Tx. The ladies who founded and operate Poquita Paws, Kathy & Cheryl, are ANGELS. These ladies work tirelessly to save and rehabilitate small dogs that have been abandoned or in need. Sometimes they keep a dog for a year or more, to acclimate a dog to living in a home and feeling comfortable being loved. Their job is endless and difficult, seeing the condition some of these poor little souls are in when they come in, and then blossoming into beautiful and sweet dogs ready to be someone's perfect companion. Cheryl & Kathy go beyond helping animals, they help people in need too. They do so much good in the community. They are Earth Angels, simply put. These ladies have a wonderful mission here on

I cannot express how thankful I am for this rescue! They introduced me to my best friend and I was able to see how much they genuinely care about the animals in their care. I foster and volunteer for a lot of rescues, but poquita paws is different and you can feel the love pouring from them. My best friend, her siblings, and mom were saved from a hoarding situation. Her mom was truly terrified and dealing with PTSD. I got to see how patient, kind, and understanding the rescuers were! The universe is truly blessed to have people like them! They answered every question when it came to food, being spayed, dental, etc. Their concern is ALWAYS about her. They let me call or text with questions, as they have more expertise than I do! They are AMAZING! Cannot recommend them enough.

We let Poquita Paws Rescue know that we were wanting a small dog, and they worked hard to find us our perfect match. After a couple of weeks Nelly was in our lovely home and we couldn't be happier! Thank you Kathy for all of your hard work!

We got our little dog from Poquita Paws Rescue and couldn't be happier. They were so helpful and caring, answered all our questions. All of their rescues were so well taken care of and happy!
