Pooch Parlor

Brought my dog for his appt at 2pm today. Called at 4:20pm asking if he would be done soon since they close at 5pm. They told me it would be closer to 6pm. At 5:30pm I get a call from them saying that he was freaking out and they weren’t able to do anything. When I pick him up they said that they washed him and cut some of his hair and charged me $38. They only trimmed around his eyes. It took 3 and a half hours to realize you couldn’t cut his hair? This is the first time a groomer has been “unable” to cut his hair, and I have brought him here before.

I went in here with a smile on my face and left within 1 minute with a frown… I walked out of the ice cream place and seen a worker holding a customers dog and I said “wow is that your dog shampoo I’m smelling” she goes yes probably so I start telling her how I’m a groomer and ask her if I could come inside with my ice cream and maybe talk to owner, she says sure. The lady at the register rudely asked me “can I help you” and I said “hi I’m a groomer at Petsmart and was wondering about the hiring process” she goes “no thank you” and I said excuse me? Genuinely confused and she goes “we’re not hiring” WOW Trust me I get it is groomers at Petsmart are looked down on. She didn’t ask about my work how long I’ve been grooming or anything . Just simplyy didn’t care and rudely told me no thank you

Absolutely will never go back. Used them several times but our dogs kept coming back with cuts, razor burns, and ear infections. Their paws would also smell like feces. The staff were rude and it would take them all day to finish. We stopped going when our dogs became more scared of them than the vet. We drive to Northfield now for much better service. Doggies now are happy, look/smell good, are done in 1.5 hrs, and no more ouches.

This is the worst groomer ever. They said 2-3 hours for my dog which is already a long time in my opinion for nails, ears, and a bath. I dropped him off at 11 and was expecting a phone call before 2. At 3:15 I hadn’t heard anything from them and they were supposed to be closing at “4 or 5.” I called them 5 times and they didn’t answer. When I went inside I had to ring the bell and someone came out and said “sorry we couldn’t answer everyone was in the back.” The woman said she got hurt and didn’t have time to do anything besides give my dog a bath. She said she could do everything else right then. She charged me $38 and had me go in the back, where my dog was being held down on the table by a guy and was very clearly scared and did not like the situation. She started using a dremel on his

I have been going to Shelly for many years. She is very accommodating and will work things out if I’m not happy with service. She does a nice job and always fits me in last minute.
