Pleasant Valley Veterinary Clinic

This review is in regards to the boarding area. We have been taking our bird here for a few years now and overall the experience wasn’t too bad. HOWEVER about a year ago we picked her up and her cage was not in good condition, it was dirty and had to be cleaned immediately when we got home. We met with one of the managers, Mr. Miller, and he assured us that the cleaning protocol would be addressed which is was and we didn’t have any problems until just now. When we picked her up her cage was DEPLORABLE !! There was a HUGE amount of birdseed and millet seed throughout the floor of the cage, and her perches were left with feces on them!!!! Staff is great. Every tech and Dr. I've seen have been wonderful. They are very honest and feel they are there to provide the best care for your pet. They don't have the feel like they are corporate owned (most important.) Family owned means more today than ever in my opinion. I've never felt pressured into making a decision if I was unsure, but the option is always there. I wish I would've gone to them with my last pup. My new girl thinks its a party when we go there

After another office couldn’t get my dog in for over a month because she wasn’t an established patient, I called Pleasant Valley as they had spayed my cat almost 5 years ago and I had worked with them before, they were able to see my dog within five days. My Saint Bernard, Gracie, had a lump that rapidly grew and she was struggling to put weight on her back leg. Dr. Mike who examined her was honest and compassionate and explained that it was very likely bone cancer, which was later confirmed by X-rays. He clearly went over our options, and we made the heartbreaking decision to put Gracie to sleep. They even offered to stay late if we wanted to do it that day. First off, I want to say I had a really great experience with Dr. Wells, who has been referred to me as THE ONE to take your cats too. I’ve only seen him two or three times so far but had a good experience each time. I’m impressed with his broad range of knowledge about cats, and he really put my mind at ease about my aging cat, Lucy, after not having so great an experience with one of our local vets. Dr. Wells had a completely different take on Lucy and was much more optimistic. He dismantled all of the concerns I had from the previous vet, who honestly had really scared me (after seeing him I was honestly thinking like, oh my gosh, this cat is going downhill and how much longer do I even have with her?!) Dr. Mike is absolutely the best vet and has been caring for my dog his entire life! (Monte is now 14 years old). We have always been treated well by all of the staff and highly recommend Pleasant Valley Veterinary Clinic!
