Piglet's Pantry-Dog Bakery

Arrived at 10:00 to shop. Sign on door says opening at 10:00. Employee inside vacuuming. Knocked a few times. At 10:15 knocked again and employee looked at the door and saw me. She then went into the back of the store. They have a Shop Local sign on the door but I guess today they didn’t care if I shopped their locally-owned store. Another couple waiting with their dog also decided they didn’t want our money today. We all left. What a shame. Do better.

The owners, both of whom we met, were rude, aloof, unfriendly, unapproachable, and with our multiple experiences in the store have no business in retail customer interactions. It feels surreal to enter a pet accessories and bakery that has such a sweet exterior and excellent curb appeal only to find a man and woman behind the counter who continue to talk with each about unimportant topics while ignoring customers. Then, when we asked for information on some items we were treated as if we were rudely interrupting their conversation. In this day and age, the internet provides the same products for 70% less cost than this store (do the research almost every item in this store costs around 3 times what it costs online). When in Mount Dora, this is a MUST stop for our 4-legged doggo, Baxter! He’s always bummed if we make it there too early! He’s loves the whole staff, the cookies, the toys, the experience! The owners are fantastic and there most days open to close, which is a feat in and of itself with them being open 7 days a week. They bake most of the treats themselves so the quality is top notch - their dogs are often there “stealing” from the counter display! 🤣 There is a great variety of toys at all price points that are just as competitive as the “big box” stores. If you have a pet, do yourself a favor and make this your one stop shop! This is a true Mom & Pop shop that has earned our loyalty!!

Not a great experience, I am a resident of Mount Dora , I take my dog for a walk in Mount Dora town centre most evenings after work , he is old and shaky in his legs …. He always stops and sniffs at piglets pantry. , there is a story on the wall outside about a mythical dog called piglet . We were in town this week earlier than usual and Piglets was open. Disaster- we went inside , we told our little story of our old dog passing by every night…. I took my pitbull here this weekend and they could not have been cooler. He’s a big friendly mess and they were not phased at all. Great selection. Hundreds of items. If you get a toy here first and then walk around the area it’s hilarious.
