Came here to buy our nearly three year-old a goldfish so that he could experience the wonderful life lesson of "nothing lasts forever". We were hoping that we could do something relatively cost-effective since they have a tendency to make their way out of our lives quicker than other pets. We grabbed a tank, decorations and food, intended on grabbing the gravel when we got the fish. When we were asked if we needed help, we informed the employee that we were looking to purchase a goldfish. They took a look at the 3.5gal tank in our cart and told us that it was too small and we needed to purchase a 20gal tank. The goldfish tags DO say 20 gallon tank needed, meanwhile they house roughly 25 of them in a 3.5gal tank themselves. The employee told us that the reasoning was that a goldfish COULD

⭐☆☆☆☆ Horrible customer service. I stood in the fish section for over 10 minutes repeatedly ringing the bell for assistance. The manager made direct eye contact with me and then walked away instead of helping. To make it worse, customers who arrived after me were helped first (with crickets) while I continued to be ignored. This is completely unacceptable. Customer service clearly isn’t a priority here. I’ll be taking my business to Petco from now on, where the staff is consistently friendly and actually helpful. PetSmart seriously needs to do better.

The fish department at this store is horrible. The associate refused to sell us guppies saying our tank is too small for any of their fish- then why sell a tank in your store you won’t sell fish for?! They’ll happily sell you a half dead beta fish though. There were multiple dead ones on the shelf, perhaps you should practice what you preach.

I have been going to PetSmart Newton grooming for years using the same groomer. Always booked both dogs at same time. One drop off one pick up given that I live a half hour away. Management has apparently changed and unfortunately they’re miserable. Too small Maltese. One sent back half done, the other not touched because I did not want to make two pick up trips. They didn’t even bother to tell me that when I dropped them off for grooming I had to make two pick ups..This is not the groomers fault it is management. When I got over there to pick up my horribly groomed dogs, I asked for my groomer and they told me she was out. I was planning to give her, her normal tip because it would be the last one she ever got from me. DO NOT take your animals there for grooming. The management does not c
