PetSmart

PetSmart has a good selection of pets and supplies. Friendly employees. I'm thankful that we have a lot of really nice pet stores in the Iowa City - Coralville - North Liberty area. I enjoy visiting them to discover new products and learn what services are available.

Awful Experience I just took my dog yesterday to get groomed. Whoever was the groomer, you did a fantastic job. I have no complaints on my dog. However, this bad review is directed towards Dana/Dona whatever your name is. She is the Salon manager you were completely rude and had an attitude on the phone trying to be a smart ass. You , were very passive aggressive. You should not be a Salon manager he were very unprofessional and even try to charge me more when I got there talking about “we’re gonna takeoff some fees”. What fees? There were no extra fees. Wanted to charge me a late fee if I didn’t pick up my dog within an hour when she didn’t even call the right phone number. Do better, or get a new salon manager.

The worst experience ever. Went there to buy a Betta fish. Got the fish and got a 2.5 gallon tank. The box said it was a Betta fish tank and it had the betta fish on the box even. They even had 1 gallon tanks for specifically Betta fish. One of the employees came over and flat out told me they will never sell me a betta fish unless I get a 5 gallon tank. So I put the fish back and bought the tank meanwhile the cashier is talking to that other lady about me on her ear piece saying I'm not buying the fish. My friend came and bought the fish and as she was buying the fish for me three cashiers were literally talking on there headset about me finally walking out the store without the fish. So why are they selling 1 gallon of tanks with betta fish on them but they will not sell live betta fish

Our dachshund went to be groomed at Petsmart in Coralville IA Sunday Jan 1, 2026. My husband did some “deluxe” add on for her. $59 later (!!!) my dog doesn’t even smell like shampoo. She smells like a wet dog! This was the worst grooming experience we’ve ever had and will never return.

I've been going to PetSmarts solely since I got my first pet in 2020, I will not be returning anymore however. The staff at this location have no customer service skills. I am fully in support of advocating for animals but I do not agree with the attitude and lack of answering questions this location has turned into. Walking away without actually answering a question or providing a secondary option is not a way to get sales, it's a way to insure a borderline hostile environment that turns away people from actually learning and growing as pet owners.
