Petco Grooming

I was running late, due to significant rain and backed up traffic. We called and reported that we would be late. We were very late. When I arrived, I was met with attitude by our groomer, Madison. She didn't communicate much and just had a dismissiveness. I was very appreciative of the fact that they were still willing to groom my dog, so I said nothing how about it. My dog was checked over, and no matts were observed. My dog was groomed eight weeks prior. I left. I got a message less than an hour and a 1/2 later that my dog was all set. I paid for the grooming and noted that the price was significantly larger than it typically is, close to thirty dollars more. I couldn't really understand the receipt, so I went home to figure it out. I figured out that I was charged for dematting my dog

Charged more than the selected price online and I was told that is the way it is. Used classic bait and switch. Madison was rude and condescending when dealing with my dog. She up charged me claiming that a lab is a long haired dog. It appears this is not the first time these actions have happened. The manager does not seem willing to address this employees tactics.

This is the second time I’ve questioned if they even have my dog a bath and just sprayed a spritz on him to smell clean. I find it hard to believe that an hour to groom doesn’t make sense. I felt Sam was not very nice. I don’t plan on going back to Petco grooming. For the cost I can go to professional who cares about my dog.

Two dogs brought in - discussed one being anxious with grooming. Upon pick up - they were unable to groom him. He did get a bath but not dried - nails done. Cost over $300 for both including tip and both were ready within a couple hours. Other experiences took longer and made me wonder if there was a rush to complete the groom and that made his anxiety worsen. Also had a policy that they did not allow treats - which seemed odd for dogs who may benefit from this type of attention. I am sure this would be a great choice for dogs who are groomed monthly and are smaller - but cost alone prevents this from being an option for my larger dogs.

Fantastic grooming experience! Samantha did a great job! Very professional, nice and patient. Will be coming back on a frequent basis. Highly recommended.
