Pet Supplies Plus Edgewater Central

Love this place! I went to the pet washing station with my two labradors. The person helping me on the phone and in person (her name is Harley) was super knowledgable and helpful. The area was very clean, everything you need is right there. The shampoo and towels are great. And the blowdryer is a bonus! Such a great value! I will keep coming back.

Nice shop that is well-supplied. Just as the name suggests. They have a plethora of stock of every kind that is pet-related. The aisles were very well marked and there was something for any kind of pet owner. There is a "Dog Wash" inside too. The main reason for the less than positive rating is that the staff was not at all friendly. It was not in any way busy and we were two of the three customers in the shop. There were two staff members present which is a very good staff:customer ratio of 2:3. Yet, we were not greeted or even asked if we could be helped. We were inside for at least 10 minutes and not a single comment was made to us. It was like we were invisible. I know I probably won't go back, unless it's a dire emergency pet need. Horrible customer service at this location. I had an online order once and came in to browse with my family before picking up and the manager watched us up and down the aisle. No greetings. Made us very uncomfortable. Had an attitude when checking us out. This happened a while ago and decided to never come back. I was in the area today and since its been a while i thought maybe there would be new people working in there. Just walked in this morning, same guy, white hair, no hello with a side eye. Felt uncomfortable and walked out. I drive all the way to Beltsville, or the new Woodmore location just to avoid coming here. As a chain i like what they offer but yikes, way to make a customer feel welcomed.

Krista the groomer is AMAZING. Our chug (chihuahua/pug) used to grouse and nip and complain about getting his nails trimmed but Krista is so patient and gentle, I think he almost looks forward to going every 2 weeks now.

I love this place for pet stuff. I'm really glad they stepped in and took over Pet Valu when they became Canada-only. They also have their own food brands that are healthful and not full of fillers, like PV did. I took a photo of the baths at this location since I realized not many people had, and I was in a position before of wanting to scope it out before coming in. In case you have a dog that is nervous or shy, you should be fine here. The walls around the baths are high, and have things stacked on them that make it harder to be 'stared at' while bathing your dog. Overall, I love this place. I also love that it seems a lot of LGBTQ+ people work here. It feels very welcoming whenever I'm here.
