Pet Stop

Pet Stop is such a great place! One of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in a pet store was here — an albino red-eared slider, which was awesome to see up close. They have an amazing variety of animals too — everything from snakes and spiders to hamsters, birds, dogs, and more. It’s clear they really care about their animals because the cages and enclosures are always clean, well-maintained, and set up nicely. On top of that, the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable, and they’re always willing to answer questions without making you feel rushed. Another huge plus: Pet Stop is family owned and operated, and it really shows in how welcoming and well-run the store is. Highly recommend stopping in if you’re a pet lover!

I have never in my life left a google review. I came to this shop because I have never been, and I was looking for additional hides for my snake. I walked in here, and immediately started crying. If you don’t see what’s wrong with those conditions, then you shouldn’t purchase a pet. If you don’t know proper husbandry, which this store clearly lacks, then please reconsider an exotic breed. And the “starter kits” they offer with some of their pets? It’s not a starter kit. It’s the 100% bare minimum, and absolutely still not appropriate. In size, substrate, or food. I wonder how this business is still allowed to operate under these conditions.

A small business, with poor ethics. There’s single monkey kept in cage, the birds are more cramped than the big box stores, and the puppies are kept alone on metal racks. Outside of the aquarium section, the animal living spaces are worse than the big box stores. The only positive to this place is that it’s a small business. — Let’s be real, monkeys aren’t pets. Especially monkeys caged in at ~10x10 space, showing signs of stress, constantly shaking the roof of the cage over and over. This place is more ethically questionable than your local big pet store. To all these reviews talking about how much they liked going here as a kid, grow up.

I was absolutely appalled at the rat care at this pet store. Rats are extremely intelligent and social creatures. Even feeders deserve proper care and husbandry. This borders on animal abuse. The workers picked up a rat who was actively giving birth on the glass on their aquarium. There were TWO freshly born babies with pregnant mama in a tank with about 4 other rats and a singular jumbo rat. None of the rats have toys, chews or any enrichment. The newborn rats were being stepped on. What a sad, boring and miserable life for these guys. These are fancy rats being sold as feeders. Picking up a rat by their tail is abuse and improper care. Pregnant mothers should never be housed with males, she should’ve been provided a hide and space to nurse. I do not understand how any person who likes a
