We've used this shelter to rescue four cats. The first rescue was over 10 years ago, the second was 6 years ago. They were amazing even back then. So very helpful, gave us not only pets that were neutered but fully vaccinated and microchiped. When our first cat passed we adopted two kittens (brothers). They were too young to be fully vaccinated so we were able to bring them back once they became old enough, the shelter was fast, friendly and bc they were recused from this shelter their vaccine was free of charge. Although we're not from orange county we travel just to go here bc of how good they've always been to our fur babies.

Back in 2017 I adopted a 4 year old female cat named Mindy from this place. We grew to love Mindy, took great care of her for 8 whole years. At age 12, she started to decline, got sick with an upper respiratory infection that wouldn't improve with any meds her vet gave her. In the end, she only got worse. She stopped eating, drinking water, lost weight, was weak, and her breathing was shallow. Under the vets recommendation, I had to put her down by euthanization. It was the hardest decision ever, but her suffering ended peacefully. I made sure she knew I was by her side. I still miss my queen Mindy and will always. After some time, I returned to OCAS to adopt another cat. While no cat will ever replace my queen Mindy, I did adopt a boy this time. A beautiful 8 year old male named Mocha, a

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A True Community Hero I cannot express enough gratitude to Lisa Walker for reuniting me with my missing cat, Baby. She was kind, and went above and beyond to ensure he was safe. What makes Lisa truly special is her dedication to the entire community; her tireless work spaying, neutering, and vaccinating local strays is inspiring. She doesn't just "rescue" animals—she advocates for them. Thank you, Lisa, for everything you do.

I have adopted 2 of our 7 dogs there and has been the best decision ever. It’s sad to see so many potential loving pets there. They all deserve a chance to be loved. Please adopt don’t shop. 3 of our dogs were surrendered to us. I love our family!

We adopted our sweet boy Dexter 5 months ago. Nobody wanted him bc he had an eye infection and upper respiratory issues. After meeting him, we immediately knew he was the one for us. We adopted him and treated his conditions and he is now super happy and healthy. We love him to death and he has been the best cat ever. ❤️
