I have been bringing my dog here since the day I brought her home as a puppy, and everyone at this clinic has been beyond amazing and supportive of my journey as a first-time puppy owner. I am very grateful they have always accommodated me and I am glad I found this veterinary practice. Both Dr. Hoevenaar and Dr. Barkow have been great to work with, along with their awesome team.

Dr. Barko examined our dog who had suffered a knee injury. He was very thorough in his explanation of her injury and recommended surgical repair. His anatomical model was useful in visualizing her issue. He answered our questions and provided handouts we could later reference. He also described appropriate post-surgery protocol. He and all the staff at Oakwood Animal Hospital are compassionate and professional.

Only been in Kalamazoo about 3 years and I'm so happy I found this place. They helped me with all they could when I was finding out my old man cat, 15yo, had bladder cancer. Wanted to make sure there was nothing they could do before we had to put him down. And while my dog isn't the best with others, they are always so accommodating and calm around her. Most recently she got attacked by another dog and I was able to bring her to them right away and help with anything I needed! Will always recommend them to my coworkers and friends in the area!

We love Oakwood Animal Hospital. They have been our vet for over 25 years. Hands down best staff of doctors, vet techs and support staff. They never make you feel silly no matter what kind of questions you have. Dr. Kate in particular is amazing and I trust her 100% with the care of my three dogs.

Oakwood Animal Hospital is amazing. We have been customers there for 22 years. They have a great staff. Dr. Barkow and Dr. Martinez have been fabulous with our fur babies. Dr. Barkow helped extend the life of one of our dogs 5 years with cancer treatments. You know you will get top notch service every time you bring your pets there.
