I adopted a dog 2 days ago and it was the best experience! The employees showed so much love and truly knew the dogs. My pup was shy at first and within the first day he opened up and became himself! Highly recommend this shelter!

I adopted my baby from here about a year ago now. He was named Jax by the shelter and surrendered originally for aggression to animals. But Jax is the absolute sweetest cat I've ever had, he cuddles with me every night and always sits on my lap. The staff gave us many free things to start us off with for him, and a free visit to the vet. They were the absolute sweetest, if I ever want to adopt again I will absolute come back here.

We are very pleased with our cat visa, and we renamed her mela. The staff was super great.!

Clean shelter and most staff are wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable. There is an exception, one lady who normally sits at the front desk. She is friendly at first but very short with her responses like she hates her job and she has no knowledge of the animals in the shelter, even the ones who have been there over 6 months. She told us to come back early in the day if we want to talk to anyone about the individual animals. That is not an option unless we take off work for the day. The shelter was scheduled to be open another few hours. We were interested in Harley who's a long time resident, but due to her inability to speak on this dog, we didnt even get to visit with the dog and ended up adopting from the high kill shelter in ftw. I see months later, Harley is looking for a home. It's

This place cares absolutely nothing about animals and only about rates and fees and charges. Virtually every other animal shelter I have gone to is completely void of animals because they allow people to come in and actually look at the animals. NRH will not allow you to look at animals unless you are already confident in buying and I know that they are going to make a sale, ching ching. I go to animal shelters three to five times a week but will never go to NRH because they are the worst one and the one with the most overstocked pets. They should look into donating their animals to other shelters that actually move animals since they don't allow that they want to sell t-shirts and other items
