New Winchester Animal Clinic

If I could give them a zero, I would. My dog has been there consistently despite issues with charges in the past, and the fact that the doctors she has seen don't really seem to "listen." Vaccines are inexpensive, and although there is ALWAYS a wait, you dont have to wait weeks for an appointment, so I stayed with the clinic for those reasons. I phoned the clinic today and asked for an extension of her itchy pills to be phoned in to a different state, as my Mom had to have emergency surgery, but they flat refused to give her ANYTHING until she has her exam. She is only overdue for the exam by one week. No exceptions. How am I supposed to accomplish that from a 10 hour drive in 12" of snow, because I am caring for my sick mother? Kimberly, I feel for you, the clinic should help you get extra itch med, possible Apoquel, it's no big deal to give you more pills to travel or in any circumstances 😉 find most inexpensive pharmacy for refill before runs out. My dogs been on itch meds too but my vets are never a problems to extend more meds. 🙃 I was going to try this new New Winchester, but I better back off. Thanks for sharing 👍

I have a 14y Boston/Yorkie mix. 5/14 took dog in for bloody diarrhea and not eating. Odd chatty vet, provided vague information. Didn't read or didn't have updated chart informing him about dog's existing heart murmur, and bad teeth. Diagnosed with whipworms, told to treat all dogs in the home with Panacur 3 days every 3 months for rest of life. Yard can't be treated due to their durability and life cycle. Meds at office were $250 - we found elsewhere for $70. Treated all 3 dogs for 4 days, 5/15-5/18. Called on 5/19 because elderly dog was still having bloody diarrhea and not eating. Hadn't eaten solid food for 8 days at this point - besides one egg I finally enticed him morning of 5/19. Dog was 19.4lbs on 5/14 and down to 18lbs by 5/19. Brought my Yorkie in because he stopped eating. After a 2 minute checkup (just felt his stomach and looked at his butt) told me they would do blood work to test for heart worm and he may have Adkins’s disease. She said he was here before with stomach issues. I had to tell her it’s because he had chips of bone in his stomach! Negative for heart worm and did not spend much time with him. Sent me home with one dose dewormer and a shot. 4 days later had to bring him back in still not eating and looking terrible. Same woman vet again spent 1.5 minutes with him and asked if I wanted X-rays taking?? Huh. No problems on X-rays except a little backed up.
