Hendricks County Animal Control

So we applied to adopt a dog a few days ago and the experience we had was absolutely horrible. The lady who took us back to see the dog was super nice and was very hopeful that we would be interested in the dog, but the ladies at the front desk were extremely rude, condescending and cold. We filled out the application and were told they would give us a call. The next day they called and asked if we could bring my kids in for a meet and greet and when I got there with my kids they had informed me another family was interested in the dog and had applied after us. Even though we were told the animal shelter was first come first serve. Well the meet and greet with my kids went great. A few days pass and I call them and they say they chose the other family because the dog seemed to like the oth

We adopted Glenda and George, now named Lucy and Cheeto, from the Hendricks Animal Shelter. They have been with us for about 4 months now, and they have been the greatest new family members! Both are about a year old now, they are full of energy and fun! The process of adopting from the Shelter was very smooth and easy. Thank You!

It was time for my old and adorable Pittie to go to doggy heaven. Animal Control staff helped me and ol' Blue take this last step, together. Being that I am on a SSI type budget, the service they provide fit my budget, very affordable. Blue was my best friend. Tore me up at 63, to see him go. But the staff was amazing.

I called as our 17yr old pet had passed and I didn't know what to do (100lb dog). They were quick to assist and let me know what services they offered. With limited funds and full emotions I (and the whole family)really appreciated the help, options and directions provided in a time like this

Adopted my Polka girl from here. This shelter is so much better than IACS. It's smaller and not as stressful for the animals. You really get to see their personality shine through and it helped me find the right fit for my family.
