NAWS a No-Kill Humane Society

This was my first time in NAWS and I had a great experience! I filled out the cat application while looking at cats and they had it looked at and approved right away so my husband and I were able to take our Allie home! LeAnn and Lisa were amazing and super helpful! We told them the type of cat we wanted and they found exactly that! She is lovable, docile, playful and loves spending all her time around us. We would recommend NAWS to anyone looking for a pet!

We had such a wonderful experience adopting our sweet dog Dempsey from NAWS. The application was easy to complete, and we really appreciated the quick follow-up via text. The entire process was very efficient. We had inquired about a different dog that ended up having a medical issue. Leah, one of the adoption counselor’s suggested we meet Dempsey, and so glad she did! Dempsey is the most loving, gentle dog who has already brought so much joy into our home. You can truly tell the staff cares deeply about the animals and about matching them with the right families. We’re so grateful and highly recommend this shelter to anyone looking to adopt! 🐾

We recently adopted our sweet little Helena (formally Briar) from NAWS. The entire process of meeting her & ultimately adopting her was pleasant. The staff at NAWS is so kind, thorough & truly wants the best for these animals. The foster family who was taking care of her was fabulous as well. We were well informed on all her medical needs/history. They want the best for these animals & give full disclosure on everything a potential family should know. I highly recommend adopting, fostering or volunteering for NAWS.

When an injured stray cat showed up on my back porch, I knew I needed to help but was unsure how to. I brought him in the house and connected with an organization that collaborates with NAWS. NAWS was very accommodating with my work schedule and within just a few days, my big stray, now named Herman, was vetted and neutered at an incredibly reasonable price. During his appointment, the veterinary care crew noticed he had a severe case of ear mites. While the Revolution dose was expected to clear the mites within days, the possibility remained that their long-term presence had caused a secondary ear infection. I had just gone to NAWS to look at the kitties. However, I got there and found 2 adorable babies that had been up for adoption for quite awhile. My heart couldn't resist. They had been very well taken care of and the adoption center was so happy for them to be adopted. The adoption center was clean and nicely taken care of not only that but, I was also able to play with them in a closed off room. So thoughtful!
