Customer Reviews
I traveled from north of Seattle to do a meet and greet between my current dog and Tootsie (who we adopted). Staff provided lots of good information and encouragement across the miles and gave us plenty of time and coaching once we arrived. They showed great investment in the well-being of their adoptive pets. The staff also respected our family bonding experience. It was well worth the long drive to rescue this wonderful dog who is a great addition to our pack.
Staff are all very friendly and welcoming, the adoption process was easy. You can tell they care very much about all of the animals there and check in a lot (through emails) post adoption. My son is very happy with his new kitten!
This place is an outstanding place to adopt an animal. I will start with a little disappointing part. Our family found a dog we really liked. It was a 10 month old husky. We spent time and went to visit it. We then spent two hours waiting to adopt him. After that wait, we found out that they forgot to put an adopted sign on it. We left a little angry and a lot devastated. Knowing we really wanted a dog, I went back the next day. After looking at all the dogs, I found a second choice. While she was not our first choice, she was the best choice. This time, we got to spend time with her in the play area. We got to the adoption process, and it was very smooth. We were given the background on the dog and her relevant medical history as well as what they were treating her for now. I was given t
The people who work there obviously care about the animals. However, MCAS does not have enough Veterinary care for all the animals brought to them (not their fault, it's a funding issue). Therefor, they adopt out sick animals who require ammediate attention which they can not give, and can cost the customer thousands of dollars. Be prepared! if you are adopting, expect exhorbitant vet fees to get what your pet needs, because they will not provide this. I visited my pet several times before adopting and alerted them that he was sick, but no one listened. Now I am home with a very sick pet. I appreciate their services, but feel like there could be better attention to kennel sneezing and coughing, especially when a pet is about to be adopted.
I’m a huge pet lover/owner and also responsible for the care of my pet, thank u humane society for all your hard work and dedication to your services however in light of the newest news segment on how your overwhelmed with too many pets for your capacity, then why is it that Oregon, Multnomah county, continues to take in strays/ misplaced animals from other states whenever a a catastrophe occurs, when u can’t even provide the much needed services here within our own counties in the here and now? Enlighten me on that please! I know this to be true from well over a year ago (not just this current November) because I’ve have reached out to your shelter and it was the same story, no room, not taking any new animals!
