We had an incredible experience with MCD’s board and train program. Our biggest pain points with our dog Maya were uncontrollable over-excitement, an inability to settle, and truly terrible leash manners...walking her felt like I was attached to a sled dog. Laura and team made a massive difference. Maya came home with a dramatically stronger foundation: she can actually settle on her place (and stay there calmly), and we can finally take walks that feel normal and enjoyable instead of chaotic. The leash improvement alone has been a total game-changer for our daily life. They accomplished things in 3 weeks that I honestly didn’t think were possible for Maya. On top of the results, Laura and team were extremely professional and easy to work with. Their communication and accessibility were
We can’t say enough great things about Monument City Dog and our trainers, Laura and Caitlin! We enrolled our 9-month-old rescue puppy, Charlie, in their Behavior Modification Bootcamp (five-day weekday school). Since adopting Charlie in June 2025, my fiancé and I struggled every day — between the leash pulling, lunging and barking at other dogs, nipping, and excessive barking throughout the night, we were at our wits’ end. I reached out to Monument City Dog for help, and they replied the same day. We had a phone call that evening with Laura to discuss our goals for the program & some questions we had and were scheduled to start training the following Monday. From the very beginning, Laura and Caitlin provided incredible structure, patience, and a personalized approach that made all the di
We sent our puppy, Jetty, to Laura for help with obedience training and socialization, the difference has been incredible. From the very beginning, Laura was a pleasure to work with professional, knowledgeable, and truly attentive to Jetty’s specific needs. The progress we saw in such a short period of time was impressive, not only in his obedience but also in his confidence and behavior around other dogs and people. We are extremely grateful to Laura and her team for their dedication, patience, and care. We couldn’t be happier with the results. We would highly recommend Laura to anyone looking for a trainer who truly cares about the dogs she works with.
Laura and team were top notch in every way. Any dog that we get in the future will go straight to Laura. She was able to transform Alfie into an obedient joy to be with both on walks and all our favorite places in the city. She provided the information and the infrastructure for us to continue working with him to maintain all her hard work. I would recommend anybody on the fence about training to reach out, you won't regret the investment into your family.
Both of my huskies were recently enrolled in MCD’s 5- and 3-week day programs, and one of them has just graduated! They entered the program as very anxious dogs who had a hard time settling during car rides, before walks, and while outside. They also struggled with reactivity toward people and other dogs. Laura and her team worked hard with them, and from the very first week of training, I saw a huge difference in both of them. The MCD team addressed all of my goals, including calmer car rides, no leash pulling, improved obedience with simple commands, and more. I’m so proud of Coco (6 y/o) and Cookie (4 y/o) for how far they have come! My only regret is not reaching out sooner when I first learned about the program. Communication and flexibility have also been highlights. I’m so gratefu
