‘McCarthy' Wildlife Sanctuary

The wild animals are all kept in excellent conditions appropriate to their species. You can immediately sense the emotional bond between them and their carers. A truly moving experience! What's more, Jeremy's guided tour included comprehensive and scientifically sound explanations that completely captivated us. An extraordinary experience that is not to be missed!

5 stars aren't enough. 1st time visit, Took my son and daughter-in-law and it was such a plesent experience. Josie was our guide and she was so personable and knowledgeable. Her dedication and passion was so evident. The interactions with the animals was pure joy, you can see how well they are cared for and maintained. Created and operations completely on donations and love. I highly recommend a visit. Check their website as they have limited hours as to not over stress the animals which I certainly appreciate. The place was clean. The girl who did the tour was knowledgeable but the two people that came with me and myself started getting bored, she talked WAY to long on each animal. I'm sure we weren't the only ones to feel that way. After awhile you kinda just zoned her out. Aso I'm handicapped and needed to sit down occasionally. It would have been nice had an employee at least clean the chairs & benches ( which I appreciated ) they were so dirty, you didn't even want to sit down. That is why I deducted a star. Animals were really cool. If you are able to stand in one place for 10 to 15 minutes on each animal, and listen to a tour guide go on & on, I highly recommend this place.

We had an incredible experience at McCarthy’s Wildlife Sanctuary. Jeremy was an amazing guide who was knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the animals and their care. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does, and that made the tour even more meaningful. The facility was impressively clean and very well maintained. It was clear the animals are thoughtfully cared for and treated with respect. The entire tour was organized, informative, and truly memorable. Such a wonderful experience from start to finish. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an up close, educational wildlife encounter.

This big cat sanctuary didn't disappoint. It is clean, shady and lots of animals to look at. Our tour guide Jossie was great, knew a lot of interesting information and kept us interested. A definite must.
