May River Pet Resort

My wife and I moved from SoCal to SC due to military orders a few years ago. We were worried about finding a place as good as our previous boarding spot (the boutique types are a dime a dozen in SoCal) for our Siberian Husky. We were so surprised and relieved to find May River Pet Resort. The facility and staff are absolutely top notch. Booking is always smooth and the drop off/pick-up process is organized (this is my favorite part, as their system prevents dogs from crossing paths in the lobby area). Everyone there genuinely cares about your pet - they even greeted our dog by name every visit we made. We used May River Pet Resort for the first time this week. We adopted a kitten 6 weeks ago and although we already had plans to go out of town we figured we’d worry about it when the time came. I called them to see if they could care for him while we were away and they were the best!!!! There are people who will come in my home, feed him and clean the litter box, but that didn’t feel right to me. He’s a kitten who needs to eat more than once a day and needs company. May River staff played with him and gave him lots of attention and loving while we were away. I highly recommend this place and I personally am so relieved to know I have a place to leave our kitty when we’re out of town.

Our previous experience with this resort was great, but when we recently took our shiba here to get a bath, she had a gash under her eye when I picked her up at the end of the day. I called again later after picking her up to see if I could get any more details, but was told the same story of her running into a fence. I understand things like this happen, but I would’ve appreciated a little more transparency about the incident and sympathy from the staff. At the very least, the fence needs to be repaired or replaced so that this isn’t a problem for future dogs and animals that are boarded here. Thank you for your time.

May River is the BEST! My parents have taken our family dog here for daycare and boarding for 3 years and they always have peace of mind leaving Riggins here. I just started taking my bulldog puppy Edwin for regular daycare and he couldn't be happier! The facility is always clean, very quiet and calm environment, amazing staff who goes above and beyond for the care of each and every dog, and the owner Duke is wonderful! Couldn't be happier with this place and team, Edwin is always in good hands!

We love the prompt service and attention to detail that is provided at Mayriver. They always greet our pet by his name! We know that our JJ is in good hands.
