Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center

A couple weeks ago we were just here for an event but a couple years ago actually on black Friday 2024 we adopted our sweet Sadie (was karmen) she was 5 years old at the time. We love her so much. She's doing well and since then we had adopted another dog. We have adopted several dogs in the passed from several shelters but Mary S Roberts was probably top of our list to adopt from.

Very disappointed and beyond frustrated!!! I'm pretty sure they have a big red ✔️ next to my name! I'd been relinquishing kittens here for a couple years. But this last attempt turned into a damn circus and I'm paying for the tickets. There are many things I'd like to share but I'll keep it to two. After my 3rd attempt to relinquish 3 kittens that had been treated for a few issues by my vet, (over $600 worth) I was told one of the kitties showed signs of respiratory infection. (See picture of said kitty.) I surely wouldn't have taken a sick cat there so I was surprised and literally cried as I gathered up the kitties and left. They recommended a vet visit.... AGAIN! Vet visit did happen, AGAIN and vet saw NO SIGN OF ANY INFECTION!!!! I want Mary Roberts to know I will never help animals a

I observed they were kind to others, and to the little animals in their care. I saw they give alone time to the adopter and adoptee to see if they are a good match or not. I know they take good care of the dogs because I noticed when me and my friend walked by the isles, the dogs were mostly quiet. They weren't all extremely hypervigilant when people walked by like at most shelters (a few barks here and there). DOGS ARE A LOT MORE CALMER HERE. They mentioned having scheduled routine for sleeping hours. It's great to know they get good rest here. The staff was very young and friendly, cracking jokes with one another. The atmosphere was very relaxed and very calm.

I adopted a kitten from here on 12/15/25 (Grinch). He is the sweetest cat ever. A little about the adoption process - it was super easy. We were able to go into the kitten’s room and interact with him ourselves. Once we found the one we liked, we went to reception. They told us that since the kitten we chose is neutered, we could take him home right away! We filled out the forms (very quick process) and purchased some items. Adoption fees we’re waived for us (I think it was the last day for that). They gave us info about the vaccine clinic which we’ve taken our kitten to twice now and they’ve been super helpful and affordable. The pet insurance they recommended is affordable as well. Went to visit an animal I saw online and determined that it wouldn't be a fit. Staff recommended a different animal and we adopted within minutes. Staff was great and personable.
