If you are considering adopting an animal, I strongly urge you not to go to this shelter. In June 2025, I adopted a seven-month-old puppy from them. When I first met her, she already seemed weak and sluggish. Both my friend and I suspected she might be sick. I asked the staff member on duty if she was ill, and their response was, “No, we don’t home sick dogs.” Reassured, I brought her home on June 14. That same night, it became clear something was very wrong. She refused to eat any kind of food—dog food, hamburger meat, even treats. She would only drink water, but then vomited it up almost immediately. Later, she began passing puddles of blood. It quickly became obvious she had parvo. Until I could get her to a vet, I had to keep her outside to protect my other dog, while trying to help
This place needs to be shut down or be placed under new management with an entirely new staff. The absolute worst shelter I have ever seen in my life. Staff is lazy and horrible and it is obvious they have no formal training on how to work in this type of environment. I have noticed that as of late there are some 5 star ratings for this shelter. If someone was to read all the reviews you would realize that some people must have been recruited to post good reviews in an attempt to make this place look like something that it simply is not. I could go on and on about the horrible things that I have witnessed first hand but there wouldn't be enough room in this post for it all.
Please, if you see a puppy here, report it to a rescue organization right away. I adopted a 4 month old puppy from here and 2 days later, he was hospitalized for 5 days from Parvo, and sadly, he did not survive. I saw that another woman also recently adopted a puppy from this shelter and that puppy also died from parvo shortly after she brought it home. Any dog, even vaccinated ones, can get parvo, but puppies are most susceptible. I am extremely concerned about an epidemic arising from this shelter. Also, he was not vetted for health, period. This shelter requires they immediately go to a vet to be spayed/neutered and get vaccines, and I asked the hospital if they did a wellness check on him while he was there and they said yes. But when I picked him up, he had fleas, and then I found ou
They are fixing the place up and it's looking good. The dogs were all well cared for and had fresh water. The staff was helpful and kind. It's a hard job and for one couldn't do what they do and keep up spirits. While we did not find a dog, I will come back
These people were so rude! I found a stray dog and they refused to take it because I’m not from here. I’m I here on vacation. The dog is from here. I can’t believe they would help a poor dog obviously homeless and in need of care
