Locust Run Kennels

I am writing to share my recent experience with your services. During my dog's recent stay, there was a minor issue where he was accidentally overfed. While mistakes can happen, I was incredibly impressed by the way your team handled the situation. The follow-up care was extraordinary, including several phone calls and emails to ensure my dog was doing well. I have used your company for several years and have always received excellent service. It is reassuring to know that you maintain such high standards of care and accountability even when challenges arise.

We have been using Locust Run for well over three years and every time I drop my pup off he is so excited to be there. The staff are incredible, they call my dog by name when we come each time, they always check in about food portions and any additional needs. We utilize the grooming facilities as well which is wonderful after a long stay. Fair pricing and flexible pickup makes this place our favorite! We will continue to use this wonderful kennel!

My 2 dogs were there the week of July 14, 2025 but only 1 of my dogs was returned to me alive. The kennel owner called us while we were on vacation to inform us that our perfectly healthy 4 year old dog suddenly died overnight. It was hot out & it is believed that he died of heat stroke from lack of water. Cameras are not available (how convenient) but we have done our research & continue to do so on the operations there. My dogs are used to the outside climate as we live on land where they run freely all the time, heat is not an issue unless they do not have access to water! I have proof my dog did not have access to water when he died. Bottom line, they killed my dog & I am not letting it go. Do not take your pets there!! Best place to board your dog in York area. The staff is so friendly, and they treat my dog like she is one of their own. Bertha loves going to the kennel and gets so excited when she sees us packing her bag. They have very clean facilities with big indoor/outdoor runs which is great for our large breed dog. Pricing is very reasonable and great value compared to others in the area we used previously. Locust run has long hours so it's easy to pickup/drop-off nearly any time or day. Very flexible if plans change and you need to add an extra day or pick up early. They also have grooming on site and will bathe your dog for an extra fee, which is nice after you've been away to have one less thing to do after coming home from a vacation. Our dogs have been going to Locust Run Kennels for the past year. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Our dogs always have a great stay there. I highly recommend trying them out if you are looking for a great kennel at a fair price.
