I don’t have enough words for John, his expertise in dog training is like no other! My Dalmatian was pulling on the leash, and recall was not very good. John came and far exceeded my expectations. She is a lot less anxious than before, and more content with me. All of her BAD behaviors stopped. He does send you with homework and it is important to follow the directions, or dog may go back to its old habits. He also put her on a raw wilderness diet, the welts on her skin have gone away after 7 months!! I took her to the vet, and no DVM could tell me why these welts have appeared. I gave up! The raw diet was the answer! I cannot say enough good things. Celena has truly changed my life, and her being well mannered makes me feel more comfortable to take her in public. Oh, did I mention? The tr

When we got Max he was a typical puppy, very energetic and all over the place. The dog captain turned Max around!! He is still energetic but in a more calming way. John is a life saver, he educated and spent time with us and Max!! I highly recommend The Dog Captain for all of your needs.

Words can’t fully capture how grateful we are for what John has done for our beloved Plott Hound, Lola. When we rescued Lola, she was anxious, constantly barking, and had no sense of obedience. Honestly, we were overwhelmed and worried if she could ever feel at home. From the very first interaction, John showed not just skill, but genuine care and understanding. He saw the good in our dog when we were struggling to see it ourselves. Through patience, compassion, and incredible expertise, he transformed Lola into a calmer, confident, and well-behaved companion. The barking that once filled our home is gone, replaced by peace and joy. This isn’t just training—it’s a gift. Lola came back happier, more trusting, and truly part of our family. We will forever be thankful for the love and dedic

We thought we needed a second dog and got a 12 week old puppy. I have had many dogs in my life and never had much of a problem training any of them ...until this guy. Could not potty train him , up on the kitchen counters and table stealing food, and when we would scold him he would just wag his tail. We were truly regretting getting him. But he is so darn cute and likeable!! I found John by doing a Google search. He has a 5 star rating so I thought I would give him a call. I am soooo glad I did!! When we first talked I was very impressed with his knowledge. He told me things about Cooper's behavior as if he had already met him and that he could only have known through his knowledge of dogs. I was still skeptical, how could he help in just one week? Well help he did!! John sent videos ev

Diesel was brought home on Sunday after being trained by The Dog Captain, it was so amazing to see the changes in him. He come home learning the commands, SIT, PLACE, STAY etc…. Working with John felt comfortable as it was easy to leave my baby with him (not the same at other places we tried before finding John. ) Diesel has learned to control his emotions as he was an extremely hyper dog. With him understanding place it gives him the opportunity to calm down when to excited. I am thankful for the training he received and would highly recommend The Dog Captain to anyone looking for some assistance with there dogs behaviors.
