Lake Ave Veterinary Clinic

Myself with my pets have been going to Lake Avenue for years and was devastated with Dr. Donner’s untimely passing and I’ve been worried about where was I going to take them. With my visit on Wednesday and meeting one of the new owner Vets (Dr. Spires) I will be staying right here at Lake Avenue. She has great skills with the animals and is also a people person. She was so friendly and welcoming. She made me comfortable right from the moment she walked through the exam room door.

Since 2017, I've been happy with the level of care that Dr. Donner and the staff gave my dogs and cats until his tragic passing earlier this year. However, the level of rudeness I encountered on the phone today was surprising. I simply called to have the records for one of my cats sent over to another animal hospital. The receptionist said, "the transfer permanent, HON" in a very snippy tone. What grown adult speaks that way? I explained that I was taking my animals elsewhere while waiting for a permanent veterinarian and a stable, regular schedule at Lake Ave. They were still super rude and all too eager to get rid of us, even though using a different animal hospital during the interim is as big of a non-issue as it gets.

as a client for nearly 12 years, Dr. Shane was amazing to all of my pets, and when he left, all the other women besides Corrine (she’s genuinely an amazing person) are mean and short with other customers and their pets. I’ve over heard them on multiple occasions saying horrible things about Dr. Shane and how he ran things. As far as for how some of them talk about other customers and their pets look, well, if they knew what was being said behind their backs, id doubt they would ever come back. i couldn’t believe the things I heard in the 2 visits after Dr. Shane passed. They are just mean, cruel and judgmental After 12 years at Lake Ave, i just have to find a new Veterinarian and that fact just breaks my heart. Lake Ave vet has always taken care of all 4 of my fur babies. They are exceptional with their service. Doc doesn't pressure you into unnecessary treatments even if it will benefit his practice. He provides humor which puts his clients owners at ease, and is extremely knowledgeable with his practice. His vet techs are kind, understanding, patient and knowledgeable. I am able to get an appointment in a reasonable timeframe and the office has all the supplies you could need. I highly recommend this business.
