Korean K9 Rescue

We adopted one of our Shiba’s from Korean K9 Rescue in January 2023. We had researched many rescues on Long Island and NYC before ultimately deciding KK9R was the best fit for us. We have fostered and volunteered with rescue over the past year, and can’t say enough great things about the impactful work they do. Fostering through them has offered immense fulfillment in a world that is in constant disarray. You can see the real impact you have on your foster, and feel so much joy once they’re adopted. KK9R is very structured and transparent with their guidelines. I have always felt very supported by their team and encourage others to try fostering with them!

Within two days of completing the adoption application, I had a response from the adoption manager to set up an interview. The quick response rate allowed me to get through the adoption process quicker and adopt my precious girl, Phoenix. The day of getting my dog, the orientation process was easy and straightforward! As a first time adopter, this minimized my stress levels. Staff were knowledgeable, kind, and patient!! They explained the dog’s history and helpful information to help the dog acclimate to a new environment. I can’t recommend a better dog rescue!

If you’re feeling the “what to expect when you’re expecting” they have you covered every step of the way. Not only do they instruct on training needs for their dogs (integral to the continued rehab of these pups), they connect you with the best-fit trainer for your specific dog. From paperwork to supply lists to the first few weeks of food, they provide everything needed to help you feel confident and cared for, leaving you feeling just as well care for as their dogs. I've only know about this organization for a year, but in that time they have transformed my life. My husband and I started by adopting a puppy in February. We repeatedly say it's the best decision we've ever made. KK9R does everything they can to set you up for success and support you through the process. They gave us a thorough orientation, made sure we had all the supplies we needed to bring our girl home and recommended an excellent vet and trainer.
