Kokomo Humane Society

Where to start, they lied to me about a dog. Told me it was house trained, crate trained , does well with other animals, well behaved among other things. Got the dog home did alright. The next day things went down hill quick. He got in my trash(he is a dog I get it) he literally ripped my door into pieces and has to be replaced. He grabbed one of my other sons animals and shook it and killed it got very aggressive and did this and my son had to watch it die. He is not crate trained and screamed yelled and got aggressive and tore up a lot. Needless to say we decided that this dog is not what we wanted(we have a dog that is 15 and has been wonderful and still is. So upon taking the dog back. My wife showed them the pics and wha the dog did and when my wife told them the lady at the counter l

My husband and I made an appointment to have our senior chihuahua euthanized, however with unfortunate timing right after we walked in our dog passed away in my arms in the lobby. There was obviously no charge since he had a natural death, but I wanted to express how much my husband and I appreciated the support and kindness of the staff to us in that very hard moment. They gave us a card with his paw print and a little section of his fur that we appreciated. I just hope they know we very much appreciated their kindness on such a horrible day for us.

I went in looking for another dog, and I was told to fill out application ahead of time due to me being so far away. I was able to set up apt that day to do some meet and greets since I had another dog in the home. An amazing worker named Heather has been very understanding and has helped with making this as smooth as possible. I came home with a German Shepherd. He is such a great dog, and fit perfectly into our home. We couldn’t be more happier with him! He is now officially adopted now that he is fixed. Still have a few things to get taken care of with Kokomo humane but over all very pleased with the adoption process. I’ve also adopted two cats in October of 2024 located at pet smart, which they are sisters and they are doing fabulous. They are a bundle of joy.

Cat Cafe was really nice. No pressure to buy, but they had good prices on lattes and hot chocolate. My daughters (8 and 9) enjoyed visiting the cats, and I think younger kids would enjoy it too. The cats were pretty well behaved. There were toys and brushes, and there was a treat machine so we could spend a quarter and get a handful of treats to feed the cats

We got out best friend today and he is amazing. The whole process went seamless. The staff is so nice and they take care of their animals really well. We looked forward to our appointment and for good reason he is the bestest boy. He loves his new home and we love him
