Here is our full story: Our 8 year old female cat started having seizures in May 2022 so we took her to the Pet Emergency Center in San Rafael where she was diagnosed with a fungal infection (Cryptococcus). They recommended that we see a neurologist so we quickly booked a visit with Dr. Jurney. After a 15 minute assessment, she came out to the parking lot and told us that our cat will likely die within a year and that there is not much we can do besides give her seizure medicine (Keppra). Shellshocked, we asked her if she can do an MRI on our cat to understand the underlying cause for the seizures and the response we got was even more shocking - that she reserves MRI's for animals that have more urgent needs.
