Bay Area Parrot Rescue

I can’t say enough about Miguel and the Bay Area Parrot Rescue! He is compassionate and so helpful, and went out of his way in an emergency situation to help us rehome a yellow-napped Amazon parrot who lost her family. He is professional, caresmatic and made the experience so wonderful for the bird and for everyone involved. I would not hesitate to work with him and his team in the future! ♥️🦜

Miguel was very helpful and responsive on re-homing a bird that was given to my family from a great aunt which we cannot take care of. It was very important to me to find a rescue that would reassure me that the bird will be in good hands and help find a home that they deserve. Miguel showed me those qualities during the process. He was very understanding and knowledgeable about birds too. (We thought the bird was a boy but he clarified to us that it was a girl!) Thank you Miguel for the work you do!

Miguel gave us wonderful information and support when we were looking to adopt a cockatiel. He screened very carefully: we had to explain our experience with birds and what we were looking for, then had a 30-minute phone interview where he asked all the right questions, and then had an in-person meeting with the bird, before he decided whether we would be allowed to adopt. That also gave me a chance to meet the bird before committing, so we knew what personality we were getting. Miguel has followed up with us to check on the bird, and was able to put us in touch with the previous owner. It has been incredibly valuable to be able to ask her questions, as we figure out how to be a good family to our newest family member. Every step of the way, we felt like Miguel was focused on the well

Unfortunately we had to rehome our Yellow Napped Amazon Parrot. We did some research and we decided that Bay Area Parrot Rescue seemed like the best option. He offered to pick him up but we ended up dropping off, which allowed us to view his bird setup. They had a dedicated room with other parrots. He even bought a new cage. I was notified last week that my parrot was re-homed to another home with parrots. I have felt comfortable thru the entire process.

Miguel was very helpful. Although we ended up placing the bird where he was purchased, Miguel was very nice and very compassionate about the bird we had “inherited” and needed to rehome. I worked with him back and forth for 2 months trying to get the bird situated. Miguel from Bay Area Parrot Rescue was very responsive and knowledgeable. If ever a bird rescue is needed I would contact them again.
