J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue

I adopted sweet little Hace, a little Bumblebee Betta, at the beginning of August. The adoption process was friendly and helpful, and I was so happy to give this little one a new home! He's looking so beautiful now and appears to be all healed. Thank you J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue!

Adopted 3 lovebirds. The rescue got back to me very fast when I submitted my application. Setting up my adoption appointment was easy. The adoption appointment itself was very quick and staff was friendly and helpful.

I have to say something about my experience earlier today. I am mentoring a youth and I brought him in to your facility and this whole place was shockingly amazing. I had no idea it even existed and the staff member who was working yesterday at about 4pm was SO FRIENDLY and engaging. She literally made this young boy so happy he could not stop talking about the experience the whole drive home. Thank you to everyone who works and volunteers at this facility. I am going to tell everyone I know about this place. It is the most amazing place I have come across in YEARS in the fox valley. ❤️

I’m so grateful to this organization for hosting such a thoughtful, education‑focused event at our public library. It was clear how much care and preparation went into making the session engaging, accessible, and genuinely useful for the community. Megan was so knowledgeable, welcoming, and passionate about their mission, and the animals they shared were a huge hit for our community. It’s wonderful to see a nonprofit investing in learning opportunities that bring people together and strengthen our community. Thank you for creating a space where people of all ages can grow, ask questions, and feel supported. I’m already looking forward to future events.

Excellent adoption experience! I'm so smitten with my new uromastyx (Maurice!). I believe he's an Egyptian so he'll be a big guy when he grows up. He acts very young and is just awesome! I'm very happy to support J&R and totally appreciate what they do, on many levels. I was kinda in and out picking him up but plan to make another trip to spend more time there, they have lots of used enclosures and related stuff as well as the amazing critters. I heart my uro, thanks so much guys!!!
