Had a great experience, the staff is so caring and did everything possible to make it a positive experience for our pup even when she was feeling sick. It is obvious they are all animal lovers who take their job very seriously. Both the vet and vet tech explained everything so well and got her back to feeling better again. Also appreciate their price transparency. Would recommend this office to anyone looking for stellar veterinary care!

Dr. Lawrence and the whole staff at James Island Vet has been absolutely amazing. Our dog had a cyst rupture on 5/27 and surgically removed on 6/2 with a different vet hospital. After 2 surgeries and 2.5 months failed attempts by that vet office and over $2200, we were tired and spent with them. On 8/16 when the incision tore back open and showed signs of infection (come to find out, the infection never fully left her body from May). At this point we ended up at James Island with Dr. Lawrence and her team. From the first visit, they took samples of the tissue, put Missie on a broad spectrum antibiotic instead and sent the tissue out for culture to see why the infection wasn’t leaving and why the wound wasn’t healing. Been under construction for at least six months if not longer. I needed to put my cat down, but I was told I would have to give her to them and have her prepped and then I’d be allowed to come in. For the last six months or so if not longer, I have to wait in my car and they take my pet. The last time I took her, they said she didn’t behave well and cut her nails down to the quick. She was scared and attached to me and I couldn’t come in with her and then they just wanted to report on how bad she was after they ultimately destroyed her nails. I’m assuming that was one tech and I never write a bad review but they deserve it. I’ve been going there for at least seven or eight years. I think they were rude and didn’t handle things well. We love James Island Veterinary Hospital. Our dog Murphy gets so excited to go and see everyone there. He’s received exceptional care (especially when he had a complicated surgery & recovery) and I really appreciate the staff working with my budget as best they can. From the welcoming front desk, to the sweet vet techs and the vets, everyone is so good at what they do.

We unexpectedly had to put our Rhodesian Ridgeback down on Saturday (1/3). We cannot say enough about Dr. Roach and the staff of JIVH. I would absolutely recommend JIVH to anyone on the Island. Thank you guys again for helping our family through that difficult time.
