Adopted Turkey a couple weeks ago. What a wonderful experience. We were told he doesn’t like to be held however he loves to cuddle. Found that to not be true. Truly blessed to have come across this great Cat. Thank you for caring for him! He is in a good home.

We came from Denver and had a great experience adopting our new puppy! The visit was low pressure and we could browse potential dogs and we were able to play with a few until we found a good match. Eden, the manager, was knowledgeable and helpful during the adoption process. I would recommend this humane society for anyone looking for a new pet!

What an easy and wonderful experience! We adopted a kitten who was named “Martina” who is now Willow. The adoption process was seamless and very informative. South Platte also offers vaccinations, pet trainings, and works with Red Stone Animal hospital for a free check-up! Not sure how many shelters offer that, but it’s wonderful they do! Willow has had no health concerns and is adapting well with our other tuxedo cat, Breeze!

We adopted our dog, Jasper, from here. We had such an incredible experience from start to finish. The staff was super friendly and helpful - we even were able to cat test our pup before we moved forward with adopting him. That gave us a huge peace of mind when slowly integrating our new pup with our cats. You can tell the animals are well taken care of and loved with volunteers constantly playing with and walking the dogs. We are so grateful that we found HSSPV and our new addition to our family 💗

Adopted my first kitty from here and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming! The staff are super intuitive and knowledgeable with the needs, background and behaviors of their animals, which makes you feel confident you can trust their judgement. The animals are CLEARLY loved for and taken care of at this shelter. I went expecting to find an older cat to take home and came home with a 5 month old Black cat who bonded with me the moment I took them out of the carrier. Shoutout to Angel! Your name suits you and the animals you care for!
