Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County

I had a good experience there. The only thing that was a little annoying was having to bring my parents up there to confirm they were okay with adopting my therapy kitten. I love that it's a no kill shelter and it's clean. It doesn't smell and the animals are well fed and cared for. They are also up to date on their vaccinations and prevention shots. The staff is very kind and make sure the animals are going to caring homes. I love my new fur baby and she's thriving quite well.

I had contacted the humane society regarding a very pregnant stray and they directed me to Memphis Animal Service. I was worried because a storm was coming and it was way too cold for this dog to give birth outside. The dog was picked up as it was giving birth later that day. I was very happy with the attention and fast action on this situation. Both my son and I had adopted dogs from the humane society in the past 2 years. It is a wonderful part of the community.

Excellent place to care for your dog. Very helpful with dog food, toys, harnesses and leashes, staff is very polite and they really care. I felt very safe and secure with my dog having surgery, microchipped, and vaccinated. They even called me after he was neutered to let me know how he was doing. Highly recommend this place!!!!

I had a great experience interacting with the staff at the Humane Society of Memphis. They assisted me with a stray dog that had been staying in my backyard for a day or so during the most recent storm. I was not able to keep the Stray because I have two other dogs, and it just wouldn't have been ideal. The staff were very friendly. Easy to talk to and communicate with. They were very helpful, and I was able to communicate with them via phone and email they responded quickly and were very knowledgeable and attentive. They also showed genuine care and interest and that, above all, made the experience great. I highly recommend using the services that the Humane Society of Memphis provides, and I look forward to working with them for pet assistance or pet needs in the future.

The Humane Society of Memphis & SC gave me one of the most precious friendships I could ever have. Benedict was one of a kind and I don’t think he would’ve been who he was if it weren’t for them. All of the staff are supportive and friendly. They care about the animals and it shows. I will forever be grateful for them. Update: The second time adopting here! We adopted a dog (black dog in pics) from HSMSC and he is wonderful! I truly love the staff there and the care they provide for these animals.
