Hickory Veterinary Hospital

My boy and I love Hickory Vet! All the staff and doctors are wonderful. But I want to give a special shout out to Dr. McCourt. She is very knowledgeable and incredible at her job. I really appreciate that she always takes her time and is never rushing when I have questions. She answers everything very thoroughly. You can really tell that she genuinely cares. My boy loves her too! The vet assistant Anthony is awesome as well. Very friendly, kind, and helpful with my dog. You know it's a great environment when my dog gets excited when we pull in the parking lot! I highly recommend Hickory Vet :)

Dr. McCourt gave wonderful care to our 17-year-old beagle mix puppy, Chica. At the end, Dr. Silcox provided guidance, empathy, and compassion—not only to Chica, but also to our family at a very difficult moment. The kindness from the entire staff meant so much; several of them were in tears that night, which truly showed how much they care about the animals and families they serve. The condolence card we received the following week was a thoughtful gesture that truly meant a lot to us. If you’re looking for a veterinary practice that truly cares about both the animals and their families, Hickory Veterinary Hospital is the place to go. I cannot recommend it more.

My dog, Annie, suffers from anxiety whenever she has to visit the vet. Dr. Silcox and the vet techs are so supportive and helpful when handling her. They do everything they can to make her comfortable. Can’t say enough about how thankful I am for the personal support they give to Annie. Yesterday was a successful visit thanks to the staff at Hickory veterinary hospital!

I unfortunately had the euthanize my sweet baby Kobe almost two weeks ago but the I am so grateful that it was done at Hickory vet. The staff were so incredibly compassionate and empathetic throughout the whole heartbreaking process. And they handled everything with such care and sincerity, I am honestly blown away. After everything they even sent us a condolences card 😢 I appreciate it all more than they can imagine. I would recommend this place 100%.

My parents had to get one of their dogs put down today. Not only was the staff so kind and caring, but they also had these baskets. One was filled with water bottles, and one with dog treats. They also had a little jar of Hershey kisses, so your dog can have a taste of chocolate before they pass on. They made a heartbreaking time as easy as they could for us. Just because of my encounter today, I will now be bringing my own pets to this vet for future treatment, because they truly go above and beyond for their patients, and their families. I highly recommend considering this vet if you're in Harford County. A big thank you to Hickory Vet for sending our dog off peacefully, and for taking care of her in the years leading up to now. I was so happy to see she was taken care of by such a comp
