All the staff and volunteers that work there have great personalities they helped me understand all the names of the cats. I even was able to help pass out rotisserie chicken to the cats. I hope to be able to help a cat find its forever home.

I adopted the two sweetest angels from HKK, Binx and tigger. Jasmine truly does have a knack for matching owners to cats, we bonded instantly! The adoption process was very smooth, jasmine answered any questions I had promptly and kept me updated throughout. Helen and Jasmine truly went above and beyond, they care deeply about the cats going to good homes. They do everything they can to make it an easy transition on the cat and you. They were so helpful dropping the cats off, answering questions, showing me things and helping the cats settle in. I would highly recommend HKK to anyone, the volunteers are angels and care so deeply for the cats!

The place smell horrible, the cats are so wounded and sick. EVERY CAT HAVE PINK EYE, EVEN THE KITTENS! Some cats are so sick that they puked everywhere. The cats, even the kittens, have skin problems; they have bites (i was there for like an hour, and i saw at least 10 fights between the cats) I understand that they rescue the cats, but I don't understand why they ask for 400 dollars for a sick cat and why they keep bringing and bringing more of them when the place is FULL, they are all sick and that makes the new ones sick too

From the moment I walked into this place, Jasmine was disingenuous with me. She told me the cat I was adopting was perfectly healthy, and only after I had the cat home did she mention it had been previously surrendered for behavioral problems. Over the next few weeks, the cat developed serious health issues. Following my vet’s advice, I kept her in a smaller area of the home while she acclimated (with full access to food, water, litter, windows, and a couch). Jasmine accused me of “abusing” the cat for this, then told me she would refund me if I returned her. After five long months of trying to make things work, the cat began peeing on the carpet. I was looking for a shelter to donate some food and toys to (my kittens are picky about wet food and I’ve been buying larger packages because it was cheaper). Chewy refunded me so I wanted to see if there was a shelter closer than PAWS (which is lovely, btw, highly recommend- I fostered a cat from there some time ago- it’s just far away to lug cans of cat food over there). Read the reviews for this place and dear lord- $400 to “adopt” a cat? I had to say something. I got my two TICA certified British shorthairs (out of state, MN) for $600 each, no health issues, and the most wonderfully socialized cats I’ve ever met (like insanely well-socialized, they behave almost like puppies around people).
