Heartland Rescue Ranch

I have volunteered here since almost the beginning. I have adopted a horse and a cat. I currently volunteer in a different capacity. It is a wonderful facility and a huge undertaking. Reality is that if there were no irresponsible pet owners.....the need for rescues would be much smaller!

I rescued a male dog from a bullet. And yes I had a female dog at home that was not fixed but as soon as we rescued him we called and made an appointment to get him fixed which we had to wait a month and a half. I did the best that I could to keep them separated until the appointment but it took one time for them to hook up so I have a accidental litter a puppies at 8 weeks old I surrendered them to this rescue just for her to make a post to talk crap about my dogs that I already have. But it turned out the puppies had parvo and I clearly did not know. My husband is the only income and I explained and stressed that out to her that we can no longer financially take care of these puppies because it was really putting us far behind in bills and my medical needs. They know why. This lady plays victim. She doesn’t want to tell the truth. I adopted and fell in love with a dog. She bit which I could get over. The main issue is she wouldn’t take her back. Told me to basically give her to a kill shelter. She will take zero responsibility and is incompetent.

My wife called this location to find out if it was suitable for her dog. We have a newborn who happens to be allergic to animals and as much as it breaks her heart she wanted to find a good upstanding shelter that wouldn't abuse her childhood best friend. I'm not sure of the lady's name who answered the phone but not only was she extremely rude but she hung the phone up as well. Some people shouldn't be allowed to interact with the public and this woman shouldn't have a job interacting with anyone. Bad day or not, it's your job.

I was homeless and didn't want my baby to suffer like I was. A friend suggested having Heartland to foster my baby till I got back on my feet. I did go visit her at the lady's house that was fostering her. I felt so bad when I had to leave. I had called the HRR to touch base with them and to let them know what was actually going on. I was yelled by the owner who was very rude at the time. She gave away my baby, which was helping me emotionally. She was a rescue and she was very skittish. To this day I am back on my feet. I keep thinking about my baby and emotionally I miss her soooooo much! How can someone do this???? How does she get away with this? I know this is long but I'll never forget my baby, Cinnie!!!!!! 🐾😭💜🐾
