HART of Maine - Adoption Center & Shelter for Cats

I've both adopted cats from here and volunteered my time. I love HART because of how loving and dedicated the volunteers and team are. These kitties are so well loved and cared for! Always happy to give what I can to help them out. ❤🐱

I adopted one of my lovely cats from H.A.R.T. and I volunteer with them. It's a great organization run by good people. They take on the care of a lot of cats that some other shelters wouldn't.

We adopted our cat from here last August. HART has the kindest staff & volunteers who truly care for all of the cats with such love. Was hard to not want to adopt all of them! The process on their end was thorough to make sure we’d be a good fit for any of the cats and I appreciate that! The facility was clean and well kept, and all the cats seemed very content in their specific rooms.

Adopted my girl “Posh” here last October. Two years old and was surrendered with several kittens a few months before she picked me to be the new chapter in her life. I had gone initially to pick up a different cat but found out that he wasn’t ready for adoption and wouldn’t be for a while. I had a look around and as I was finishing a little chat with her through her cage I started to reach above the cage to pet one of the cats that was laying just above. That’s when she reached through the cage and grabbed my jacket. Looked at several other cats, but she won me over with that move and well, here she is.

My boyfriend and I adopted a sweet cat named Crow here yesterday, and the staff were so kind and very obviously cared deeply about all the cats! We will absolutely be returning if we decide in the future to adopt again :)
