Hackles and Hide k9 Academy

We adopted a special needs puppy from a rescue. We have a lot of experience with rescues and special needs pups. This baby was only 12-16 weeks when we got him. He was very ill and he was showing aggressive behavior. We had concerns of him hurting our other dogs or another person. I have never given up on a baby, but I was not hopeful he could be changed. Fast forward a year, good medical care, and our true hero Ashley at Hackles and Hide, our Boomer is thriving. He is learning his place in the pack, he's learned to share, he is almost friendly (his terms of course) to visitors. He obeys the true boss of our home, the cat, and he sings songs for us every night. Ashley was kind, calm, and patient. She restored our hope and our home!!! It takes a lot of work, that never stops

We had a great experience with Hackles and Hide K9 Academy. Mike was our trainer and went above and beyond - not only working with us at the facility, but also coming to our house and even taking us out into shops. That made the training so much more practical and easy to carry over into everyday life. He tailored the basics to our dog and family, and we were even able to bring our toddler along without any issues. It was fun, useful, and exactly what we were hoping for. Couldn’t have asked for a better friend and teacher along the way. Thank you, Mike!!!

We used to not be able to handle our little dog around other dogs, walks were nightmares & we couldn’t get her attention to calm her down at all. We couldn’t enjoy marion by moonlight with her. But Mike helped us get her under control & now she can go about anywhere with us & walks are enjoyable now!

Have always had great experiences with Mike. He worked with me to help build my rescue dog’s confidence and help him adjust to day to day life as well as improve his overall obedience. I travel for work and I'm in the area for a few months. I have never had a personal trainer for my dog, who is almost 7 years old. And after the initial consultation I'm so grateful that this was the trainer I picked. I look forward to learning how to help my companion enjoy her life to the fullest. The picture is taken after we went on a super long walk today. She did great. I've been practicing some of the skills and tools I learned during the consultation. She had no lunges and only bark two or so times at half volume at another dog. I'm very excited for the next 8 weeks. I'm coming into this knowing that the training is more so for me, so that I can better handle my dog, learn the dos n don'ts while establishing consistency and strengthening our bond.
