Gwinnett County Animal Shelter connected me with my Soul Dog 8 years ago. I adopted him at a time that my life was in an incredibly dark place and he truly saved me. He was exactly who I needed at that exact moment in my life. I was made aware he had been surrendered a couple of times by previous owners, partly due to inability of care for his last round of heart worm treatments he needed, but I was willing to take that on. We grew together, we became best friends. My family loved him. He was there for comfort and solace, laughter, celebrations; everything. He was our family and we gave him the love he deserved when we rescued him at a year and a half old. Just recently, we lost him and we feel completely devastated without him. We are so extremely and eternally grateful to have been able

ANIMAL CONTROL IS USELESS! I called at 11:30am on Saturday to report a stray pitbull that approached my small dog and small kids as we were leaving our home. An officer called me around 12:20pm saying he was on his way and asked had I seen the dog and I told him I saw the dog about 15 minutes ago. The officer never showed so I called and texted his cell phone at 1:20pm to no avail. I called to make a complaint with the supervisor and the supervisor stated that GPS proved that the officer had responded which is not true because my window is pointed toward the street and I did not see an animal control truck. The supervisor stated that the stray dog “probably” left the location. I asked what to do and he said to call every time I see the dog. I told him that I was afraid for my children and

We had never been here before but it was okay. They don't really tell you what to do they open before 11 although the website and door says 11 nobody in the lobby really knew what to do other than sign in. There was a lot of staff standing around talking with each other and the big guy at the front desk was super slow and rude. We adopted a super cute little Rottweiler. They couldn't tell me what the spots were on him all they said was he is allergic to soy but he is not they don't share any health facts just said their vet would only say he is allergic to soy...

Thank you Gwinnett County Pound. I had received my special friend from you on 9/14/25, because my previous service dog of 11 years passed away. A family member mentioned your website and I chose Flynn. She picked him up for me, as I live in Columbus GA. I was told when I got him that he was returned 3 times, even if it's true or not, I couldn't let that happen again. He's thriving and happy here with me. Thank you for the gift of love and compassion I got when he came into my life when I needed him. THANK YOU ❤️

The staff were very professional and helpful in helping me adopt a cat. I adopted 3 1/2 year old Lynx Siamese who has settled into our home quickly. She has been renamed Petra. She is affectionate and playful. Thanks to the staff for all their help.
