Garuda Aviary

The level of compassion and dedication shown to the parrots at this sanctuary is truly remarkable. Christopher is a wealth of knowledge which he generously shares to help others better understand the needs of these magnificent, wild birds. Although admission is free, I was glad to contribute, knowing my donation supports those parrots that are least likely to find a home elsewhere due to the unique challenges of caring for severely neglected animals.

This is such a lovely place that rescued and provides loving care for abused exotic birds. You can feel the love and happiness of the birds. This is a wonderful place to visit!

Love this place. Garuda Aviary is a life time sanctuary for difficult, abused and neglected parrots. It is their forever home. Christopher the director is amazing in the work he does. Caring for the birds and educating people about why parrots should never be pets or how to enrich their lives to live happy with their humans. When the weather is nice the birds are out in the flight habitat and visitors can view them and chat with Christopher. Definitely recommend and will donate. Parrot sanctuaries are often over looked in comparison to cat/dog shelters.

Love the aviary. The sound of the parrots (and other exotic birds) is almost primordial as you take the trail past the gardens. It seems like you're going to be visiting dinosaurs, not, birds, lol! I was expecting just a look at the parrots, but Christopher gave an entire presentation on the exotic bird trade that was both interesting and eye-opening. As a teacher, I'd recommend a class visit.

After my first visit to Garuda Aviary, I felt fully educated about parrots and their needs in this domesticated world The manager is so knowledgeable and so very caring for these creatures. Many of them arrived at the sanctuary abused and neglected but now their life is filled with great food, a free flight outdoor aviary in good weather, and so much love. It was inspiring to see for myself how much these birds are cared for. It was mind-expanding for me.
