Fur Keepers Pet Services & Training

We used Fur Keepers Pet Services & Training to watch our two dogs while we were away for four and a half days—and we are beyond impressed! Not only did Shelly take amazing care of them (they were happy and relaxed when we got home), but she also accomplished what we honestly weren’t sure was possible: she got them to stop their nonstop barking! We had asked for some training help while we were away, and Shelly worked her magic. When we got back, the dogs were already responding to a “hush” command—and even better, we had been trained too! She showed us how to follow through so the dogs actually listen to us now. I work from home, and barking used to be a constant background soundtrack to my day. Shelly has an amazing ability to connect with animals. She worked mainly with one of my dogs who needs the training (a young German Shepherd mix), specifically when it came to walking/not being distracted/jumping. She listened to what I told her about what Max was like, experienced it herself and made firm and gentle corrections that Max quickly took to. Shelly answered every and any question I had, gave excellent advice and offered a variety of solutions. She also was kind enough to help me with my other dog who is very well behaved but has a phobia of certain objects. She communicates quickly, clearly and has followed up several times to make sure we were all doing okay. I asked Shelly to care for my pet rabbit and lizard for an entire month while I was displaced between moves. I was so happy when she told me she would care for them. Not only did she care for my animals, but she taught me how to better care for my rabbit by showing me some different foods and even tricks with the litter to reduce odor. She was awesome. Now, I use Fur Keepers every time I go out of town. They’ve earned my repeat business.

We have been customers of Fur Keepers Pet Sitting since the beginning of their business. Kerry and Michelle treat our 3 dogs like their own. They give my seniors (14 yrs old) medications and make sure they make it up and down our stairs. My younger dog is attached to me, so Michelle gives him extra love. They send pictures and messages to us from each visit. With them in and our, picking up and mail, etc. no one knows we are not their. We highly recommend them. In our opinion, you will never find anyone else so loving and caring for your fur-babies.

We have completed a handful of training sessions now with Shelly and it has been a great experience so far. She was able to correct bad habits including biting at hands, basic obedience including sitting and down position inside and outside, and working on his heel command while on walks.
