Friends of Upland Animal Shelter

Last night 2/17/25 I had found 2 male kittens on my front porch. They were super sweet, healthy, & friendly. The next morning I went to Upland Animal Shelter & they denied me. The animal control “officer” didn’t even check them out like the front desk said they would. They wouldn’t even let me in. They said “put them back where you found them on the street. If you leave them here I will arrest you for Animal Abandonment in the state of California” just continuing to threaten me. I was so heartbroken. These cats were maybe a couple months old, young adult. I started to cry in the car I was so disappointed. How could you tell me to put them back on the street but then tell me I am going to be doing Animal abandonment if i leave them here. Not even sympathizing or offering other assistance ev

Great experience from start to finish.The greeting and experience meeting my new pup, the reduced cost being a senior myself, the shot, chipping, neutering, first vet exam, second shot, free one month insurance. The best part of course is my new buddy. A perfect little 4 year old companion who is absolutely delightful. The shelter is clean, staff incredibly helpful and the all the appts. both to the Vet and second shot were available and easily accessible for me as a long time Upland resident. Keep up the good work. I encourage locals and non locals to visit and adopt here.

The people here are so friendly and kind. Thank you for loving the animals. Found this cutie and they are going to help him find a forever home.

Please be very Careful,When Adopting from Any place, unfortunately I got a pet that was sick from here and my Veterinarian bills are through the roof and it's breaking my heart and my bank account, when you say your interested in a pet they start rushing to get it with giving you time to think about what to ask, yes I know it's your choice, they act like used car sales men, get in and get them out, and when there is an issue they will simply say we didn't have the animal long or the animal was fine when it was here, they only give bare minimum shots, all I can say is Please be careful and don't let rush you, make sure you write down all of your concerns before you go there, and if dose not sound right then it probably isn't !!!
